Websec's Wyatt Harvey and Sebastian Bethell kicked off a three-part web application security workshop series with the OWASP Victoria chapter on November 16, 2023. The first session, From Basics to Burp: Navigating PortSwigger Academy, was held at VIATEC (777 Fort St, Victoria) from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM PST.
What Part 1 Covered
Part 1 introduced attendees to PortSwigger's Web Security Academy platform and the core workflow for testing web applications with Burp Suite. Participants worked through the platform's introductory labs, learning to identify and exploit a range of common web vulnerabilities in a controlled setting.
