Websec joins DEFCON 24 with the workshop "Nmap NSE Development for Offense and Defense" in Las Vegas on August 5.

DEFCON is one of the largest annual hacker conventions in the world and has taken place in Las Vegas, Nevada since 1993.  It brings together computer security professionals, journalists, lawyers, government employees, security researchers, students and hackers with a general interest in software architecture, hardware modification or anything that could be compromised.

Paulino Calderón, in collaboration with Tom Sellers, will share with the participants how to use the Nmap scripting engine, or NSE. The workshop will focus on the basics of using Nmap, NSE and the Lua programming language before fully introducing how to solve problems by writing custom scripts for offensive and defensive tasks.
