Websec Sponsor and Exhibitor at the 2025 MISA BC Conference
Websec was a sponsor and exhibitor at the 2025 MISA BC Conference from September 8 to 11 at the Victoria Conference Centre. The event is the annual gathering for BC local-government IT practitioners and the vendors that serve them, with speaking sessions, an exhibit hall, and plenty of hallway conversations with senior decision-makers from across the province.
Websec was a sponsor and exhibitor at the 2025 MISA BC Conference, held September 8 to 11, 2025 at the Victoria Conference Centre. MISA BC is the provincial chapter of the Municipal Information Systems Association, and its annual conference is the main meeting point for local-government IT practitioners across BC and the vendors that serve them.
Why MISA BC Matters
Local governments across BC run an increasingly complex set of systems, from 311 and permitting to utility billing, public safety, and cloud-hosted records. The attack surface those systems present is real, and the people responsible for defending them benefit enormously from a venue built specifically around their work. MISA BC is that venue, and the conference pairs speaking sessions with an exhibit hall and social events so the conversations keep going after the talks end.
What We Were There For
We came to meet the practitioners doing the work: IT managers, CIOs, security leads, and analysts from municipalities up and down the Island and across the mainland. Our focus in those conversations was the same as it is in our day-to-day engagements, understanding the real constraints local governments operate under and being honest about where our penetration testing, application security, and security awareness services can help and where they cannot.
Thanks to the Organisers
Thanks to the MISA BC team and volunteers who put the week together, and to everyone who stopped by the booth for a conversation. We plan to be back.
