Websec was proud to be the Platinum Sponsor of BSides Vancouver Island 2025, held on October 3, 2025 at the Victoria Conference Centre in downtown Victoria, BC. This was a step up from our sponsorship the previous year and reflects how strongly we believe in what this event is building on the Island.

The Day in Numbers

The conference drew 300 participants from more than 5 countries and featured 7 speakers from across the west coast of North America. The talks covered a broad slice of what the field is actually grappling with right now, from AI security risks and physical access attacks to cryptographic weaknesses and the practical challenges of defending modern systems.

Why We Went Platinum This Year

BSides Vancouver Island has grown into one of the most meaningful grassroots InfoSec events in the region. It is where working practitioners, students, and newcomers share a room for a day and leave with genuinely new ideas rather than a badge and a conference swag bag. Supporting it at Platinum is one of the clearest ways we can back the community that we ourselves learn from.
